1 December 2020 - UW is a founding signatory of Energy UK’s new Vulnerability Commitment, and has promised to offer more support to vulnerable customers.

For example tailoring its communications and bills according to direct feedback from customers in vulnerable circumstances, and from its frontline staff.

UW is focused on making it easy for customers to manage their home services. Customers can bundle their gas, electricity, broadband, home phone, mobile services home insurance and boiler care, into one simple, great value, monthly bill.

Currently UW also offers vulnerable customers extra assistance, such as special processes for managing payment difficulties, the Warm Home Discount (as eligible), emergency support for customers with prepayment meters, and a dedicated coronavirus support line to help ensure they stay safe, well and warm.

The new Vulnerability Commitment charter has been created with Energy UK's extensive and open-ended research. By being among the first to sign up to it, UW is demonstrating its long-term commitment to continuously improving the services available to those in need.
