London, 19 February 2024: Utility Warehouse (UW) has joined forces with Aldi and added the UK’s fourth largest supermarket to its roster of Cashback Card retailers, giving customers even more opportunities to save on their household bills and support during the cost-of-living crisis.

UW customers who use their Cashback Card at Aldi, which has more than 1,010 stores across the UK, can earn 3% cashback when shopping at the supermarket in-store or ordering online for click and collect. The cashback earned is then automatically added to customers' bills as a credit, giving them additional savings on their UW energy, broadband, mobile, and insurance bills.

Aldi is the latest major retailer to join UW’s Cashback Card programme, which is supported by more than 50 retailers across the UK, both online and in-store. The programme has seen rapid growth in response to customer demand, with total customer spend growing by over four times in the last five years. By partnering with UW, brands cost-effectively unlock growth in revenue, customer value and market share.

Ben Wigoder, Financial Services Director at Utility Warehouse, said: “Our Cashback Card programme is entirely unique to UW, providing engaged multiservice customers with typically hundreds of pounds of savings a year. It also provides our partner retailers, like Aldi, with a tremendous platform to deliver on their commercial objectives. We’re looking forward to working closely with Aldi and other leading UK retailers as we scale up our offering over the years ahead.”

An Aldi spokesperson said: “We’re delighted to partner with Utility Warehouse, who share our values around saving customers money. As one of Britain’s fastest growing supermarkets - as well as the cheapest, according to Which?* - we’re excited to work with a rapidly growing business like UW, who share our passion for delivering great everyday value to customers across the UK.”

More than 62,500 additional households switched to UW in the first 6 months of FY24, representing an annualised growth rate of over 14%. With more than 950,000 households taking 3 million services from UW, the business is expected to pass the one million customer milestone during the current financial year and is on track to double its customer base over the medium term.
