Who is eligible for UW Home Insurance?

UW Home insurance is only available to our existing customers who have an established direct debit set up. It’s another perk of being a UW customer.

What do your policies cover?

UW provides a choice between either buildings, contents or comprehensive combined insurance to safeguard your home and belongs. So if you’re a homeowner or a renter we can provide the cover you need.

What exactly is this ‘panel of insurers’?

We work with a panel of top-notch insurers to provide our customers with the same great UW Home Insurance cover every year. When you get a quote, as well as at renewal, each of our insurers will provide a price based on your circumstances and we select the best. Meaning that we shop around so you don’t have to! 

Will I get the same cover at renewal?

Yes - because UW have written the policy wording (not the insurer) your cover levels and limits stay the same. 

So, unless you’ve specifically requested any changes to your policy, we’ll get you a quote for the exact same level of cover as the previous year. If anything changes we’ll notify you in writing.

Does the price go up after one year?

We don’t hook you in with a cheap deal the first year only to raise it at renewal. We give you the best price from our panel of insurers every year. Meaning you get a competitive rate at the start as well as every year you’re insured with us.

Will my policy be on my UW bill?

Yes! As part of our one bill promise your Home Insurance payments will be added to your monthly bill. And unlike some insurers we don’t charge any additional fees (like interest) for spreading the cost over the course of the year. Easy.

How can I pay for my insurance?

To make things easy we’ll just add your insurance premium to your monthly UW bill. Unlike other insurers we don’t charge you a fee or interest to pay monthly. Meaning you can spread the cost of your cover without any penalties.

Who are Defaqto and Moneyfacts?

We think our insurance is the best, but you don’t have to take our word for it. Defaqto and Moneyfacts are two, independent financial information businesses who provide expert consumer advice. 

They rank financial products and services to make it easier for consumers to distinguish between the quality and level of cover they will receive, and they both have given UW Home Insurance 5 stars. Their highest possible rating.

Why has my underwriting insurer changed?

We work with a panel of insurers who all provide the same great UW Home Insurance cover. Every year we ask them to provide their best price for your cover and select the insurer who comes in lowest. Meaning you get the same great cover, year after year, and always with a competitive price.

How do I make a claim?

As we work with a panel of insurers your first port of call is to refer to Page 1 of your Policy Schedule. There you will find the number to call to get started with your claim.
