London, 6th February 2024: Utility Warehouse (UW) has been awarded five stars for its insurance products by Defaqto for the eighth year in a row. The multiservice supplier has also been awarded five stars by Moneyfacts for the seventh year in a row.

UW was awarded the highest possible rating for its Home Insurance by Defaqto and for its Boiler & Home Cover and Home Insurance products by Moneyfacts, highlighting that its insurance service is consistently among the best in the market for consumers, offering a wide range of cover supported by excellent customer service.

More than one in five UW customers now take an insurance product when they sign up to UW, alongside market leading energy, broadband, and mobile services. Overall, UW’s insurance business is delivering around 40% annualised policy growth, while helping to support the acquisition of multiservice homeowners.

Defaqto’s star rating is an independent industry standard that consumers can trust while a Moneyfacts star rating is an independent badge of quality for consumers.

Commenting on the top ratings, Ben Wigoder, Financial Services Director at Utility Warehouse, said: “Our insurance products play a vital part in helping people save a bundle when they join UW and are another way to unlock our multiservice savings, while giving customers peace of mind that they are choosing a provider with a long-standing reputation for reliability and quality. We are delighted to have secured the top ratings by Defaqto and Moneyfacts, two of the UK’s most trusted sources of expert financial product ratings.”

Samantha Owens, Star Ratings Manager at Moneyfacts, said: “Consumers can have peace of mind when buying Home Insurance from Utility Warehouse, which again received a five-star rating for 2024. This product benefits from no hidden fees with most features covered as standard, along with the flexibility to add a range of additional cover options. Also receiving a five-star rating, the Boiler & Home Cover and Home Emergency Insurance offers customers competitive cover limits, with most features offered as standard. This again gives customers the confidence they are covered in most eventuality.”

More than 62,500 additional households switched to UW in the first 6 months of FY24, representing an annualised growth rate of over 14%. With over 950,000 households taking more than 3 million services from UW, the business is on track to pass the one million customer milestone during the current financial year.
