A SIM-only deal gives you data, minutes, and texts for a set monthly cost. However, you don't get a new phone like you would with a mobile phone deal – you just get the SIM.

The easiest way to tell if your phone is unlocked is by inserting a different SIM card from another network into your mobile. If you’re able to connect to the internet, make calls, and send text messages, your phone is likely unlocked.
If you don’t have another SIM card from a different network provider, you can also check by going into your phone’s settings. The exact location will vary depending on your phone’s manufacturer, but you can typically check by:

Tapping the option to choose a network provider manually. If a list of available networks appears, your phone is unlocked.
Alternatively, on an iPhone, you can select ‘Carrier lock’. If it says ‘No SIM restrictions’, your phone is unlocked.
Yep, simply contact your previous network provider or text 'PAC' to 65075 to get a PAC code which will allow you to bring your current number over to your new SIM. This won’t disrupt your service either.

The best way to find out when your mobile phone contract ends is by checking with your current provider. You may be able to log into your online account, check on an app, or give them a call to find out.
Mobile providers are now also required to contact you with an end-of-contract notification between 10-40 days before the end of your contract. This means that your provider should make you aware when your contract is coming to an end.
Yes, we'll have to send you a new SIM card if you change your mobile number. However, it’s a simple process: all you need to do is give us your Porting Authorisation Code (PAC), which you can find out by texting ‘PAC’ to 65075 for free. We’ll do the rest.

Yes — eSIM is now available for existing UW Mobile customers. If you’ve had an active UW Mobile service for more than 30 days and your phone is eSIM-compatible, you can now switch from a physical SIM to an eSIM through your UW app or My Account on the web — no need to wait for the post or swap SIM cards.
We’re also working on adding eSIM as an option on our website which we expect to launch in the early 2026. You’ll hear more soon about this via our website or your UW Partner.
