What is a SIM-only deal?

A SIM-only deal is when you only pay for your data, minutes, and texts for a set monthly cost. You receive a SIM, but not a handset.

SIM-only deals are ideal if you want to keep your phone but upgrade to a contract that better suits your needs.

Can I change to a SIM-only deal but keep my mobile number?

Yes, it’s easy to switch to a UW SIM-only deal without changing your mobile number. You can get a porting authorisation code (PAC) that allows you to transfer your current number from your previous network provider to your new UW contract. 

If you want to upgrade your current UW tariff to a SIM-only contract, your number will automatically stay the same.

How do I activate my new SIM card?

Activating your new UW SIM card is easy. You can activate your SIM in your online account, in the UW app, or by calling our automated activation line on 0333 003 5645.

If you call us to activate your SIM, please have the following information on hand:

  • The mobile number to activate

  • The year of birth of the mobile holder

How long does my SIM-only contract last?

We offer flexible SIM-only contracts that you pay for on a monthly basis and last for one calendar month. This means you’re not tied down to a lengthy tariff.

Which countries are included in EU roaming?

Our Unlimited+ plan includes EU roaming, so you can make calls, send texts, and use your data allowance in Europe (EU) and The European Economic Area (EEA) at no extra charge.

The following countries are included in our Roam like Home service:

What is your Fair Usage Policy?

On our Unlimited+ plan, our Roam like Home service comes with a Fair Usage policy that lets you use up to 14GB of your data allowance in the Roam like Home countries. 

Once you’ve used your Fair Usage policy amount when roaming, we’ll notify you, and surcharges will apply to continue using data when roaming in our Europe Zone.
