Utility Warehouse drives forward growth plans with new Chief People Officer

Libby Townsend joins the leading multiservice provider bringing vast experience of high growth businesses

9 January 2023 -Utility Warehouse (UW), the UK’s leading multiservice provider, has appointed Libby Townsend as its Chief People Officer.

With UW on track to add a million new customers over the next five years, Libby will take charge of the company’s people agenda, supporting the business and its employees through the challenges and opportunities of a fast-growth environment.

Libby has extensive experience in both high-growth businesses and utilities. Libby joins UW from Pure Electric where she was Chief People Officer, working closely with the CEO to build the people function from the ground up. 

Before this, Libby was Chief People Officer at Monzo Bank where she played a key role in the business doubling its headcount and helping them expand into international markets during a high-growth period for the business. Other roles she has held include Group People Director at OVO Energy, where she helped lead its cultural transition after it bought SSE. Libby has previously worked in HR roles at Virgin Mobile and BT Openreach. 

Libby joins UW at a pivotal time and will lead its People function and help enhance the supportive culture and working environment for its 2,000+ employees as the business enjoys record growth and customer numbers.
