£400 to help you switch

Who is Glow Green?

Glow Green is an award-winning boiler installation company based in Bournemouth, England.

It has a network of over 1,000 Gas Safe engineers who supply and install boilers for our customers.

Your contract will be with Glow Green, who’ll supply and install your boiler.

What type of boilers do Glow Green install?

Glow Green install gas and LPG boilers in mainland UK. Glow Green do not install oil or electric boilers.

Is a gas boiler the only option?

We're aware of other low-carbon fuel options coming to the market – some of which come with government grants – such as heat pumps.

Heat pumps are currently significantly more expensive than gas boilers, and often require considerable changes to your home, both in terms of heating system and energy efficiency to function adequately.

At the moment, we expect gas boilers to continue to be installed until 2035 and to be maintained beyond this.

How do I get a new boiler?

To get a new boiler, simply call Glow Green’s Boiler Team on 0333 777 3221. After checking your current boiler setup, they’ll give you a quick quote for a new one and you can book an installation.

How can I pay for my boiler?

You can pay by using your bank card or on a 5–10-year finance.

If you pay with a card, you'll need to pay a 50% deposit over the phone when you book your installation. You’ll receive an invoice from Glow Green for this payment. The remaining balance will be taken by Glow Green once the installation is complete, using the same card details the deposit was paid with.

If you pay by finance, your monthly payments will be made directly to one of Glow Green’s finance providers.

Do I need to pay a deposit for my boiler?

If you pay by finance, you don't need to pay an upfront deposit for your installation.

If you choose to pay by card, you'll need to pay Glow Green a 50% deposit over the phone when you book your installation, with the remaining balance to be paid immediately after the installation.

Are there any postcode areas Glow Green don't cover?

Glow Green covers all mainland UK postcodes, however due to engineer constraints appointment availability is limited in some postcodes, particularly : AB, IV, KW, LL, PH, SY

Do Glow Green offer a wireless thermostat with the boiler?

Glow Green provides a free Salus RT510RF Boiler Plus wireless thermostat with all new combi boilers.

If you get a system or a regular boiler, you can buy a Salus RT510RF at a competitive price. It's also possible to upgrade to a Hive smart thermostat for an additional cost.

Do Glow Green’s boilers come with a guarantee?

All Glow Green’s new boilers will come with a five-year manufacturer’s guarantee.

However, if you sign up for our Boiler & Home cover you'll receive a 10-year guarantee for your boiler.

How long does it take to fit a boiler?

Every boiler installation is different, as things like the type of boiler being replaced, your new boiler being fitted, the fuel you’re using, and the location of your existing boiler can affect the time it takes to complete the process.

As a rough estimate, installing a boiler can take four hours to a few days. Generally, the replacement will take less time if your new boiler is the same type as your existing one. 

Changing to a brand new type of boiler and its location in your home will take more time as your engineer may need to complete pipework and reroute fuel supplies in the process.

How long does a boiler last?

The lifetime of a boiler depends on its usage; heavy usage and poor maintenance can decrease its life expectancy and efficiency. However, according to Vaillant and Worcester Bosch, the average amount of time that a boiler lasts for is between 10–15 years.

UW’s Boiler & Home Cover includes unlimited callouts and boiler breakdown, so you can always count on us to help keep your boiler running safely.

How often should a boiler be serviced?

It’s recommended that your boiler is serviced once every year, as it’s an important part of maintaining its efficiency and ensuring it’s in safe working condition.

It can be beneficial to have your boiler serviced in the summer when it is used less frequently, so you can get it ready ahead of the busy winter period when you use it more often and engineers may be busier.

It’s also worth noting that landlords must legally have any gas appliances checked annually by a Gas Safe-registered engineer. 

With our Boiler & Home Cover, you can benefit from a free annual boiler service to make sure everything is running as it should.
