The average ‘shelf life’ of a traditional meter is around 15–20 years. Once a meter passes its expiry date it requires updating. Your meter has either approached or is fast approaching its expiry date and needs to be replaced.
In some instances, the meter will continue to work as normal. However, some issues can occur. For example, an expired meter can have data accuracy issues which could cause inaccurate bills.
It’s important that you book an appointment you have your meters upgraded to make sure that you’re not caught short if your old meter stops working properly.
