Utility Warehouse joins forces with CityFibre to bring lightning-fast broadband to homes across the UK

25 September 2023 - Utility Warehouse (UW) customers nationwide will get greater access to the UK’s fastest and most reliable broadband technology thanks to a new partnership with CityFibre, the UK’s largest independent full fibre platform.

UW, which provides energy, broadband, mobile and insurance services, has teamed up with CityFibre, via their existing relationships with TalkTalk Wholesale, the UK’s largest and fastest growing consumer wholesale provider of fixed connectivity services, to provide lightning-fast broadband to homes across the country. Through this partnership, Utility Warehouse are able to maximise TalkTalk’s wholesale platform capability to accelerate full fibre take-up.

Customers who sign up to UW full fibre will enjoy a flawless online experience with super-speedy uploads and downloads, seamless streaming, and crystal-clear video calls over a network capable of supporting speeds of up to 1000Mbps.

Everyone from families and homeworkers to binge-watchers and dedicated gamers can benefit as the new technology supports multiple devices simultaneously, but without the buffering and disruption often experienced using older broadband networks.

Full fibre networks use 100% fibre optics to carry data from the home to the point of connection in contrast to the existing copper wires in many properties which are slower and less reliable.

Switching to UW’s full fibre plan now also means that homes are future-proofed with the very latest broadband technology, so customers won’t get caught out when copper connections are phased out and the country pivots to full fibre to meet increasing data demands.

With UW’s new Full Fibre 100 deal, customers can save over £120 a year compared to Sky and over £37 compared to BT when customers also take a mobile service. And as one of the few service providers available on CityFibre’s network, UW is able to provide super fast broadband to millions of more homes than many of its major competitors including Sky, BT, Plusnet, and EE.

CityFibre’s rollout recently passed 3 million homes with almost 2.7 million now able to access full fibre broadband services.

Stuart Burnett, Co-CEO of Utility Warehouse, said: “Record numbers of households across the UK are turning to UW to benefit from big savings on their monthly bills and best in class service. Our partnership with CityFibre maximises TalkTalk Wholesale’s platform capability to provide an even better service to our customers so we can offer them the fastest and most reliable broadband in the UK straight to their front door. And unlike many other suppliers we also guarantee no mid-contract price rises.”

Dan Ramsay, Chief Marketing Officer at CityFibre, said: “We’re thrilled to be partnering with Utility Warehouse, enabling even more people across the UK to enjoy the benefits of our full fibre network – spectacular speeds and rock-solid performance.”

UW customer numbers recently broke through the 900,000 mark and the business is on track to welcome an extra million customers over the medium term - reflecting its strong, long-term competitive position.
